Stakeholder Model

Tourism Surrey is pleased to announce that they have adopted the “Stakeholder Model”. This is a new business model that many regional and local Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) are adopting. We are no longer operating on a membership basis. With this model, the old membership fees are eliminated and you can now pick and choose which programs work for your business. The intent of the stakeholder model is for Tourism Surrey to have the opportunity to embrace the whole tourism industry in Surrey without the requirement of businesses purchasing a yearly membership. It will give Tourism Surrey the opportunity to fully represent all tourism products available in the community to the consumer and marketing opportunities will be available to all businesses within Surrey.

As part of the stakeholder model tourism businesses that participate financially in Tourism Surrey’s programs will be considered marketing partners meaning within the 12 months of purchase those partners will be voting stakeholders and have the opportunity to run for the board of directors.
