Combining recorded television footage, the artist's own video recordings, surveillance video, schematic diagrams, and real-time 2D and 3D animation, Deep Play is a monumental 12-channel video installation that immerses the viewer inside a deconstruction of humanity's largest sporting event, the 2006 World Cup Final soccer match. This critically acclaimed artwork presents a compelling portrait of contemporary sports, and how they have been shaped and transformed by mass media and new technology.
