As home to many species of wildlife, Mud Bay Park is part of the Boundary Bay Important Bird Area and Western Hemisphere Shorebird reserve network and offers great bird watching opportunities during the migratory season. The area is also important to its resident species including raptors, songbirds, shorebirds, waterfowl, and even Great Blue Herons and Bald Eagles.
